"Charlie's Angel" : In Memory of a Friend

“Charlie’s Angel” is a Bruce Worthington pattern which appears in the latest CWC magazine. I decided that it was time to make a Worthington original and this specific pattern held meaning to me because I spent many a Monday evening chatting with Charlie on the ScrollSaw Crafters forum.

I decided that I would make this angel in my usual segmentation fashion but instead of cutting all of the pieces I thought I might try using a bit of carving to accentuate the folds and curves. I had fun and learned that I have a lot to learn about carving and perhaps a smaller project would have been a better starting point. Nonetheless, here is a picture of my version of “Charlie’s Angel”.

I miss talking with Charlie Norris. He was a gentle man, willing to share his wisdom, humor and knowledge with any who asked. I wish that I had had the opportunity to meet both Charlie and Sharron, it just never quite worked out. I will remember him each time I see “Charlie’s Angel”. My thoughts go out to his family as I am sure that they miss him each and every day.
